Battery Management System Software Engineer.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Lead the design, development, and implementation of a high-performance BMS for our marine battery systems. This includes defining system architecture, selecting components, and developing control algorithms to optimize performance, safety, and longevity.
Develop and validate sophisticated BMS algorithms for functions such as state-of-charge (SOC) estimation, state-of-health (SOH) prediction, cell balancing, thermal management, and fault detection, specifically tailored to the unique demands of marine environments.
Conduct rigorous testing and validation of the BMS to ensure compliance with marine-specific safety and performance standards, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and on-vessel trials.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in BMS technology and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for marine applications.
Analyze and troubleshoot BMS performance issues in real-world marine settings, providing expert support to ensure smooth operation.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred.
Proven experience in battery design, development, and testing.
Strong understanding of battery cell chemistries (Li-ion, solid-state, etc.) and their characteristics.
Familiarity with battery modeling and simulation tools.
Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and their components.
Knowledge of battery safety standards and testing procedures.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Familiarity with battery manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of marine type approval and certification processes (DNV, LR, ABS)
